Reflectivity

Traffic sign visibility is critical at all times, but especially during inclement weather or in low light situations. In order to appear bright to driver's eyes, signs need to have retroreflective surfaces so that the light striking them from vehicle headlights is reflected back to a driver’s eyes. Per the 2009 MUTCD all traffic signs, whether on public or private property, must be retroreflective. Hall Signs stocks retroreflective materials from several manufacturers, and the three most popular materials we carry are Nikkalite™ Engineering Grade (EG), 3M™ High Intensity Prismatic (PHI) , and 3M™ Diamond Grade™ DG3 (DG3).
